Lha Bab Duchen " The festival of the Descent from Heaven. On this day the Lord  Buddha descended from the heaven of thirty three gods on three golden gem decked ladders to the human realm. This day is considered to be very important because it is believed that any unctuous actions or negative actions performed are ten millions times greater on this particular day of the year."

Today, on the 11th of October, 2024, Jamyang Choling Institute held our annual prayer for the summoning ritual of Vaishravana and Mahakala (Yangdrub). We dedicated this prayer ritual for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and spiritual masters of all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and for the fulfilment of all virtuous aspirations and long-term happiness of all of our supporters and donors who have been supporting Jamyang Choling over the years. We dedicate for the world peace and temporal and ultimate happiness of all sentient beings.

At the wish of His Holiness the  14th Dalai Lama,  All-Knowing and All-Possessing Buddha, the debate on the Prajñāpāramitā literature was held at the Jamyang Choling Institute Nunnery 21st September 2024 with the presence of the abbot of the Nunnery, Geshe Tsering Nyarna (Khen Rinpoche) and the teachers who have been of such great kindness to this Nunnery  the nuns and the lay students.

On the 23rd August  2024 of the sixth month of the Tibetan lunar calendar, Abbot the Venerable Kyabje Khen Rinpoche Geshe Tsering Nyarna  together with a large number of nuns performed a hundred repetitions of the Heart-Essence of the Buddha’s Discourse on Averting Evil, a Dharma-Protector, a propitiation and confession of the goddess, Dharma rituals and prayers to living being around the world.
