On your 91st  birthday, Your Holiness, we bow with deep gratitude. You’ve touched millions of lives with compassion, wisdom, and peace. Today, the deaf may not hear and the mute may not speak, but their hearts express what words cannot pure love and profound respect.

Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419) was an eminent teacher of Tibetan Buddhism whose activities led to the formation of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. This is the celebration of his parinirvana. It is celebrated on the 25th day of the 10th month in the Tibetan calendar.     

Special events were held at Jamyang Choling Instutite during the month of Saka Dawa celebrating Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and parinirvana.

Lha Bab Duchen " The festival of the Descent from Heaven. On this day the Lord  Buddha descended from the heaven of thirty three gods on three golden gem decked ladders to the human realm. This day is considered to be very important because it is believed that any unctuous actions or negative actions performed are ten millions times greater on this particular day of the year."
